Display Loyalty Card as QR Code in Balance Widget
Originally the Balance Widget was not built with a digital-first world in mind, meaning that a use-case where this widget could effectively replace a physical loyalty card was not envisaged. The end goal is that digital loyalty cards be stored in guests' Apple or Google Wallet, but to support customers in the short term whilst this solution is developed, this release allows the possibility to display the guests' loyalty cards in as a QR code in the Balance Widget. This allows guests to scan their card as they would in the Wallet and streamline the process of accruing loyalty rewards. As the screenshot shows, the card number is still displayed to cater for scenarios where it's not possible to scan the QR code.
Improvements to Loyalty Extracts
In order to enhance the reporting and analysis capabilities for Loyalty customers, some changes have been made to the following extracts:
-
The overnight transaction extract has been updated to include the Username and Notes fields;
-
The overnight card information extract has been updated to include the Loyalty Tier field.
Returning the Loyalty Program's Type in the External API
The iOrder platform is now using the Loyalty API to provide a more seamless experience in setting up Loyalty programs, but previously the API did not provide info to iOrder on whether the program was a Loyalty or Gift Card scheme, raising the possibility of confusion and/or user error.
This release has addressed that issue and the Loyalty API now passes a field called "type" which allows iOrder to determine the program type and display only the Loyalty programs in the platform.
